Review
Catching fire is written by Suzanne Collins
and is the second part of the hungergame trilogy.
Main protagonist is young Katniss Everdeen, who lives together with her mum and her little sister Prim in the new America which is called Panem now. Panem is separated into one capitol and 12 districts, and every district has its own assignment. District 12 is scaled for mining. Every year there are the hungergames, which are invented to remind the population of the great rebellion over 70 years ago. A girl and a boy from every district have to go to a big arena and there they have to kill each other until there is only one girl or boy left.

first book Peeta and Katniss won the games and so they were allowed to come
back to their district again. Now they have to play the cruel games again.
There they meet Finnick, Mags, Beetee, Johanna and Wiress. Together with them
they decide to destroy the arena. Because of an invention of Katniss, they
redirect the electricity of the dome and the whole arena gets destroyed.
Questions
The
hungergames are definitely the best book I have ever read. Suzanne Collins
wrote theme so thrilling and barnstorming that you can’t stop reading. My
favourite character is Katniss, not only because she volunteered for her little
sister, also because she knows what she is doing, she is confident and she
saves all her friends.
My
favourite scenes are the ones with Cinna, Katniss’s stylist. He is the only one
who gets trust from Katniss, and he really likes her. Everything that he is
doing, is for her, it is because he will delights her and his mission is to
show her, how much beauty is inside her.
I think the
most important moment is, when Katniss and Peeta are in the talk show of Caesar
Flickerman. Peeta asks Katniss to become his wife and everybody is overwhelmed
when she says yes, also President Snow is around, especially to congratulate
them. But President Snow is a very foul person who wants, that Katniss stops
the rebellion, so she has to do everything to get the rebellion prohibited,
otherwise Snow would kill Gale and her family. In this scene she asks him if
this was enough, but he only shakes his head, so that only she could see it,
but this head-shaking is the biggest
sign that she could ever get. Her last hopes got destroyed.
If I could
change the plot, I think I wouldn’t do it, because all of the things that
happen in this part of the trilogy are very important for the next part.
What I
would ask the author is what thoughts she had, when she wrote the hunger games.
I find it really interesting how people can make up their mind and write those
stories.
The book is definitely a page
turner, and the reason why is, that you can feel like Katniss after a
while. You are in the world of her and
all of the things that happen to her are thrilling and kind of breathtaking.
